Is there a difference between a
boom lift and a cherry picker?
A cherry picker, also known as a boom lift, is an aerial platform designed to enable access by elevating workers up and over, or around, large obstacles. Along with scissors and low-level access, booms are part of the range of powered access machines supplied by OMNIA ACCESS. MEWPs (Mobile Elevating Work Platforms) are flexible, cost-effective and, most importantly, a safe way of working at height, enabling the user to easily work on hard to reach areas.

Diesel Lifts
Diesel lifts are best suited for outdoor work and most can be safely driven whilst in the height position. Cherry pickers are self propelled from the platform and can be used all day without the need for refuelling. The platform is able to take considerable weight, ideal for lifting and using equipment at height. 4 X 4 units are perfect for rugged terrain, sloped or uneven ground, they come with outriggers for extra stability.

Bi-fuel/Electric cherry pickers are ideal for use indoors. These machines are easily manoeuvred through indoor environments. They can be narrow in width and used in areas with restricted space. These are clean, quiet and safe machines and ideally suited for indoor work with non-marking tyres and zero emissions. The flexibility of a bi-fuel machine is that it can be used outdoors too.
